Welcome to the South Orange County Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter!
Looking back at our Delta Gamma college experience, we treasure the memories of special friendships and new adventures. As a DG alumna, you can have that same social experience. The South Orange County (SOC) Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter plans fun events, from September through June at member homes, dine-outs at local restaurants, and some additional fun adventures. We have two Special Interest Groups for our members that we are starting this year. One will be a weekly Pickleball Evening Play Group in Dana Point/or Laguna Niguel and the other will be a Media/Book Club, done virtually until it is safe to meet in groups. We will have several virtual group meetings for fun, held via Zoom. We've talked about virtual Bingo and Happy Hour and will be posting our calendar soon.
SOC DG's annual membership dues are $40. We have additional giving options to help support philanthropy and our chapter. This year, we have an option to donate to "Sisters Helping Sisters" and will be using the funds for gift cards to help our sisters who have suffered financially due to Covid-19. Our philanthropic focus is Blind Children's Learning Center in Tustin and the Makapo Blind Paddling Group of Newport Beach. We also support an annual scholarship awarded to a student at one of our local collegiate chapter(s) at either University of California, Irvine or Chapman University in Orange.
Our SOC group grew to 94 members this past year! Our ages and alma maters are varied, yet our college sorority experience binds us, making socializing easy and comfortable. Please contact Tracy Smith, Vice President of Membership, at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more about us. Join a virtual meeting and try us out. You'll be surprised at the close friendships you'll make, just like you did in college!
